“The Smile Project” is about focusing on the happy things in life and making the effort to record and remember them. By the end of this project, I hope to have a huge list of things that made me smile at some point in life. You can join as well. 🙂
My Bouquet of Smiles for Today:
1) The Last Team Meeting:
Today was our last team meeting of the year and my boss had brought breakfast and drinks for all of us. Unlike other days, he told us to put away our notebooks and enjoy the chitter chatter lol. So we had a reaaaaallly long meeting first thing in the morning and it was reaaaallly hard to want to start working lol 😀
2) The Two-Way Graph:
After trying all day, I was finally able to build a bar graph that contains bars originating from the top and the bottom of the graph and moving towards each other. I am quite satisfied and impressed with myself.
3) The Flight of the Birds:
As I was eating lunch today, I was watching the birds outside the window. They were sitting on top of the building on the other side of the road. Some were sitting right near the spot where the air comes out from inside the building. I wondered if it was perhaps warmer there. A few minutes later, some of them flew away in a group and settled on top of the higher high-rise building. I could watch them all day long. I wonder what they are still doing here in Winter. I hope they are not too cold.
4) The Tarzan Guy:
It was my second day in a row to have spotted this Tarzan-like guy all dressed in The North Face clothing as I was walking to work. Just like yesterday, he appeared from behind me and he walked way faster than me. Unfortunately though, he had to stop for the traffic lights to be able to go across the road. Standing beside him was me, all wrapped up in my 2 jackets, 2 hoods, scarf and gloves. And this guy was just standing there without any cap or gloves. And his long Tarzan-like hair was just flying around with his every move as if it was summer lol. I felt like I was in a very weird tropical forest where the temperature was atleast -7C. LOL! It was a very confusing moment. As soon as the light turned red, he returned to his regular fast walking pace and disappeared asap.
5) The Roasted Potatoes :
I forgot to mention it but the cafeteria had the most amazing roasted potatoes yesterday. They came as a side for the open-faced Turkey sandwich (the name of which also makes me laugh lol) but I liked them much more than anything else. They were tangy, salty and sooooo crispy!! I loved them. I wonder what would have made them so tangy. Perhaps baslamic vinegar or lemon juice? Not sure. A Google search didn’t help either.
Today’s lesson is about tears. They allow us to let out the feelings of our heart so we can grieve. They are warm and salty, I don’t know why. Most importantly, their warmth reminds us that we are still human; that even though what we want right now has changed, the heart remains the same. The heart remains the same. Live well.
❄ Thanks a lot for reading. 🙂 ❄
Have an awesome day/night ahead,
Wanna spread some smiles?
